Healing and Emotional Support after Cesarean

This group is ideal for women who seek a safe and supportive space to process their cesarean birth experience. Difficult emotional responses to an unplanned or emergency cesarean may develop immediately after birth or may emerge much later. The anticipation of a subsequent pregnancy or birth may trigger the need for additional processing of previous traumas. There are many "right" ways to process and grieve. The aim of this group is to create a space for healing and community.

At each session, participants are led through various activities to assist them to process events and feelings. Activities include art therapy, writing, shared reading and reflection, mindfulness activities, activities to reconnect mind and body and process trauma, and of course, support from fellow cesarean mamas.

Held the second Tuesday of every month. 6:00-8:00 pm. Alma Education and Movement Space, Main Entrance. 1233 SE Stark St., Portland, OR 97214.

This is an open group. Pre-registration is requested but not required. Please contact Carly for more information. Babies in arms are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided. Free and open to the community.
